It was all going so well… That was, until, December 21st, when Jessica Andrade was officially removed from the UFC 207 card. Fast forward three days and there was more bad news. Cain Velasquez had been declared medically unfit by the Nevada State Athletic Commision, and his fight with Fabricio Werdum has been removed from the card.

Women’s Strawweight contender Jessica Andrade was so hopeful that the UFC would find her an opponent for the card, she even travelled to Vegas to fight, but after certain circumstances stopped different opponents stepping in, the Brazilian was removed from the card.

The removal of Cain Velasquez vs. Fabricio Werdum was due to Velasquez being declared medically unfit to compete, just days after it emerged he had been legally using medical marijuana to dull pain from a back injury. Velasquez and his coaches insisted he was fit to compete but the NSAC felt differently.

You can see what the fight card looked like before the changes here.
