Canadian UFC Lightweight Mitch Clarke has officially retired from the sport at 31 years of age.

Clarke faced Alex White earlier tonight at UFC 215, and after being stopped in the second round with strikes, he announced his retirement, and left his gloves in the cage.

As always, Clarke showed his amazing toughness in the fight, but ultimately succumbed to strikes near the end of the second round. The former EFC welterweight champion amassed a 2-5 UFC record, and has lost his last three straight. During his UFC tenure, he faced names such as Al Iaquinta, Michael Chiesa and Joseph Duffy.
