A welterweight contest between Alex Thorne and Jamie Richardson is set to take place at Cage Warriors 85.
Jimmy Johnstone announced the news over social media along with a bantamweight bout between Damo Weeden and Cameron Else.
Thorne (3-4) has lost his last two fights, one by submission, and one by stoppage. The Bournemouth native has not fought since March of 2015. Two of Thorne’s three wins have came by submission.
Richardson (4-3) has won his last two, picking up two first round stoppages against Joseph Karim and Ivan Golod. Prior to the wins, the Englishman was on a three fight skid, with losses to Shane Gunfield, Nathan Jones, and Mehrad Janzemini.
Cage Warriors 85 takes place live from the O2 Academy in Bournemouth, England, on Saturday, June 24. The card is set to be headlined by a middleweight title fight between Jason Radcliffe and Oskar Piechota.
