Highly touted UK prospect Sam Spencer has signed a five fight deal with Cage Warriors Fighting Championship.
Spencer announced the news over social media whilst his opponent was named by the promotion; “Smooth” will face Paull McBain.
Having fought most often on FCC, Spencer (5-1) has made a name for himself across the UK scene. He won his first two fights handily, before facing Bryan Creighton at FCC 15. Spencer suffered a broken jaw in the first round but continued to fight, and managed to win a decision. Spencer’s only professional loss came at the hand of James McErlean, who secured a submission in a highly entertaining fight at Tanko FC 2. Rebounding from the loss, the Manchester Predators fighter stopped Dylan Sheehan in the first round of their bout at FCC 18.
His opponent on the night will be a name Cage Warriors fans should recognize, Paull McBain (4-0). The Scotsman went 3-0 in his first three professional MMA fights, adding on to a 1-0 amateur record. McBain scored two TKO victories along with a submission win. In his Cage Warriors debut last time out at Cage Warriors 82, he faced highly touted judoka Lloyd Manning, and after a thrilling back and forth fight, won a split decision.
Cage Warriors 88 takes place live from the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Saturday, October 28. The event is set to be headlined by a lightweight championship fight between current titleholder Chris Fishgold and Alexander Jacobsen
