A marquee welterweight matchup has officially been added as the main event for Cage Warriors 83 in Newport, Wales.
Taking place at the Newport Centre on May 6, the night is set to be headlined by a clash between Che Mills (16-9-0-3NC) and Lew Long (14-4).
Fresh off a first round submission stoppage of the previously undefeated Ryan Scope at Made 4 The Cage 23, Long will be looking to move ever closer to a shot at newly minted welterweight champion, Karl Amoussou.
A win over Mills could see Long contesting the CWFC belt or possibly move straight into the UFC.
A former UFC fighter himself, Mills has had a tough run of late, earning only one win (officially) in his last seven outings. The stats don’t tell the full story however, as Mills has been competitive, particularly in his last few outings.
Also expected on the card are Jack Shore, Scott Clist, Josh Reed and Aaron Khalid.
