Unsurprisingly, going in to Sapateiro Invitational 6 the heavy favourite to win was Gordon Ryan and with good reason.

True to form, Ryan won the tournament and with it the $10,000 prize money.

Despite withdrawals from Lombard and Monson, this was still a stacked card. However, it wasn’t Ryan who stood out in this tournament despite winning. His teammate Matthew Tesla showed exactly why he’s on the Danaher Death Squad, winning three matches by submission – including a heelhook-induced victory over Richie “Boogeyman “Martinez – to reach the final, before succumbing to a reverse triangle from Ryan. Tesla has now firmly established himself as a main player in the Danaher Death Squad and is showing the world that there’s more to the squad than just Eddie Cummings, Gordon Ryan and Gary Tonon.
