A bantamweight bout between former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw and #5 ranked Raphael Assuncao is in the works for UFC 200.

The news was reported on Wednesday’s edition of UFC Tonight.

Dillashaw (12-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) first met Raphael Assuncao at UFC Fight Night 29 but lost a razor thin decision. Since that fight, Dillashaw captured the UFC Bantamweight Championship in the ‘Upset of the Year’ as he stopped Renan Barao in the fifth round at UFC 173. Dillashaw defended the belt twice with two TKO victories over Joe Soto and Renan Barao before facing Dominick Cruz in January. Dillashaw and Cruz went five rounds but the judges give Cruz the split decision nod.

Assuncao (23-4 MMA, 7-1 UFC) has been unstoppable in the UFC since losing to Erik Koch in his octagon debut. Assuncao has picked up seven straight victories with five decisions, one TKO and one decision. The Brazilian has been hindered with numerous injuries and hasn’t fought since his victory over Bryan Caraway in October of 2014.

UFC 200 takes place live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 9. The card is set to be headlined by a rematch between current light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and longtime rival Jon Jones.
