A lightweight contest between Stevie Ray and Joe Lauzon has been announced for UFC Fight Night 108.

UFC officials announced the contest earlier today.

Ray (20-6 MMA, 4-1 UFC) was the Cage Warriors Lightweight Champion prior to signing with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The Scotsman made his promotional debut at UFC Krakow, and stopped Marcin Bandel in the second round. Ray then stopped Leonardo Mafra at UFC Glasgow before defeating Mickael Lebout via decision. His first UFC loss came at UFC Brasilia, when he dropped a decision to Alan Patrick. In his most recent outing, the 26-year-old defeated Ross Pearson via split decision.

Lauzon (27-12 MMA, 14-8 UFC) is one of the most battle tested fighters in the UFC, and has become a fan favourite after taking part in numerous exciting fights. During his UFC tenure, the American has won a ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus seven times, along with seven other performance bonuses. In his most recent outing, he came up against Marcin Held at UFC Phoenix, and won a controversial decision after three rounds of fighting. Lauzon admitted after the fight that he thought he had lost the fight.

UFC Nashville takes place live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on April 22, 2017. The card is set to be headlined by a featherweight contest between Cub Swanson and Artem Lobov.
