A lightweight bout between Sage Northcutt and Claudio Puelles has been added to UFC 214, in Anaheim.
The promotion announced the fight on Wednesday.
Northcutt (8-2) had his tonsils removed last month, and is ready to get back into the octagon. In his last outing, the 21-year-old was submitted by Mickey Gall. “Super” is 1-2 in his last three. Following a submission loss to Bryan Barberena, Northcutt returned, and took a decision over Enrique Marin at UFC 200.
Puelles (7-2) made his promotional debut last time out, and lost to Martin Bravo via second round TKO. Prior to that, the Peruvian was riding a two fight win streak with one submission and one TKO victory.
UFC 214 takes place live from the Honda Centre in Anaheim, California, on July 29. The card is set to be headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones.
