Brazilian middleweight Ricardo Abreu has been suspended by the US Anti Doping Agency for four years.

Abreu (5-1) was suspended for two years following an initial failed drug test, and after failing a second test, decided to retire from the sport of mixed martial arts. Although he’s retired, USADA still imposed his ban, announcing that the 33-year-old would be suspended for four years.

During his short UFC tenure, Abreu defeated Wagner Silva via second round submission before losing via split decision to Jake Collier at UFC Fight Night 68. Abreu hasn’t fought since 2015, and it is now unlikely he will ever return to the sport.
