Uriah Hall was scheduled to face Anderson Silva at UFC 198, but the former UFC middleweight champion pulled out. The UFC looked for an opponent to face Hall on four days notice but after a viable replacement couldn’t be found, the promotion pulled Hall from the card.

Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting confirmed the news which was first reported by Brazilian outlet Combate.

Hall (12-6 MMA, 5-4 UFC) is one of the most fearsome strikers in the whole of the UFC when he fights to the best of his ability, and holds some memorable knockouts. Hall is probably most well known for his crushing spinning back kick knockout of Adam Cella during The Ultimate Fighter Season 17. “Prime Time” also holds impressive stoppage victories over Chris Leben, Oluwale Bamgbose and Gegard Mousasi.

It is unsure what the UFC plans to do with Hall.

UFC 198 takes place live this Saturday from the Arena de Baixada in Curitiba, Brazil. The card is headlined by a heavyweight title fight between current champion Fabricio Werdum and Stipe Miocic.
