“Hey” Mickey, what a win! Firstly, let me apologise for that terrible joke, now let me get on to the fight. Mickey Gall picked up a second round submission at UFC Sacramento following a rough patch early in the second round.
The first round went pretty much to plan for Gall, he managed to secure a takedown against the cage, and stayed on top for a while. Sage did manage to get on top eventually but it probably weren’t enough to win him the round. Goind back after the first, both men looked fresh, as they should, with little happening in the first frame. The highlight of the whole first round was Sage Northcutt trash talking Mickey Gall. Yes, you read that right, Sage stood up and trash talked the grounded Gall. Incredible.
The second round started fast, with Sage looking like he really wanted to put a beating on Mickey Gall. He landed a hard right hand which snapped the head of Gall back before just moments later tagging Gall with a left which forced him to hit the canvas. Gall got up though, and although Northcutt looked confident, he was about to be in trouble. Gall winged a massive right hand and sat Northcutt down. ‘Super’ Sage dived in for a desperate takedown, but Gall stuffed it, took the back, and after a minute or so, locked in the rear naked choke and forced the tap.
