A Lightweight encounter between “Groovy” Lando Vannata and David Teymur has been made official for UFC 209.

UFC officials confirmed the bout earlier today to multiple outlets.

Vannata (9-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) burst onto the UFC scene as a short notice replacement, when he fought Tony Ferguson at UFC Fight Night Sioux Falls. Vannata arguably gave Ferguson his toughest fight but after scoring multiple knockdowns, tapped out to a D’arce choke in the second round. “Groovy” made his second UFC appearance at UFC 206, and scored a possible knockout of the year with his first round wheel kick KO over John Makdessi.

Teymur (5-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) took part on The Ultimate Fighter Season 22, but was eliminated by Marcin Wrzosek in the quarterfinals. Nevertheless, the Swede still got his chance to fight in the UFC, and faced Martin Svensson at UFC London. Teymur picked up a second round TKO. In his second, and most recent UFC bout, the 27-year-old faced Jason Novelli in August of 2016, at UFC Fight Night 92. Again, Teymur walked away with a second round stoppage, taking his UFC record to 2-0.

UFC 209 takes place live from the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 4th, 2017.
