Joseph Duffy and Mitch Clarke are set to meet in a lightweight encounter at UFC Fight Night 90 in Vegas.

Duffy (14-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) was, for a long time, known just as the man who beat Conor McGregor back at Cage Warriors 39, but since joining the UFC, has made his name as an athletic, tough, and exciting athlete. The Irishman debuted at UFC 185 and stopped Jake Lindsey with a beautiful body shot head kick combination before taking home a submission victory over Ivan Jorge at UFC Glasgow. In his most recent bout, Duffy came up against the toughest test of his career in Dustin Poirier, and although proving he’s one of the most game fighters in the UFC, lost a decision.

Clarke (11-3 MMA, 2-3 UFC) went 0-2 in his first two UFC bouts with a TKO loss in his debut and a split decision loss in his second outing. “Danger Zone” was desperately in need of a win if he hoped to stay in the UFC when he faced John Maguire at UFC 161, and win he did. The 30-year-old took home a decision victory before taking home a huge upset against Al Iaquinta at UFC 173. Most recently, Clarke took on hot prospect Michael Chiesa, but eventually lost the bout via decision.

UFC Fight Night 90 is one of three events that take place on the weekend of UFC 200. The event is the first of the three, and will take place on July 7 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card is expected to be headlined by a lightweight title bout between current champion Rafael dos Anjos and Eddie Alvarez.
