An explosive bantamweight bout between Jimmie Rivera and Thomas Almeida has been added to the UFC on FOX 25 card.
UFC officials confirmed the match-up to MMAFighting.com following an initial report from Newsday.
Rivera (20-1) has been unstoppable since a split decision loss in his second professional fight. Since that time, the 27-year-old has racked up 19-straight victories, four of those in the UFC. During his UFC run, “El Terror” has defeated Marcus Brimage, Pedro Munhoz, Iuri Alcantara and Urijah Faber.
Almeida (22-1) has won a performance bonus in every single one of his UFC fights barring one. That one was his lone loss, which was to now champion Cody Garbrandt. Prior to the loss, the Brazilian had won four straight, finishing three. Rebounding from the loss in his last outing, “CB” stopped Albert Morales at UFC Sao Paulo.
