A light heavyweight bout between Jimi Manuwa and Volkan Oezdemir has been announced for UFC 214.

The promotion revealed the bout earlier today.

Manuwa (17-2) will be in the running for a title shot should he win this fight. The Englishman is currently riding a two fight win streak with two KO’s, and has already traded barbs with current champion Daniel Cormier over Twitter. Following a knockout loss to Anthony Johnson, “Poster Boy” stopped Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 204 before starching Corey Anderson in the UFC London headliner this past March.

Oezdemir (14-1) shocked the UFC scene in his promotional debut, stepping in on short notice and defeating Ovince Saint Preux by decision at UFC Houston. Following that, Oezdemir came up against highly touted Misha Cirkunov at UFC Stockholm recently, and made quick work of the Canadian, scoring an impressive 28-second KO.

UFC 214 takes place live from the Honda Centre in Anaheim, California, on July 29. The card is set to be headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones.
