A middleweight bout between Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza and Robert Whittaker has been added to UFC on FOX 24. The main event for the show was just announced moments ago.

MMAJunkie.com first reported the news.

Souza (24-4 MMA, 7-1 UFC) is one of the most dangerous fighters in the UFC, and has one of the most feared ground games in the promotion. The Brazilian has racked up seven wins in the UFC, with his only loss being a tight split decision against Yoel Romero. Since that loss, ‘Jacare’ has won two straight, finishing Vitor Belfort and Tim Boetsch respectively.

Whittaker (17-4 MMA, 8-2 UFC) has looked unstoppable since his stoppage loss to Stephen Thompson at UFC 170. The Australian has won six straight fights, and has amassed three finishes in that time. Whittaker has crisp boxing, and it showed in his last outing, where he stopped Derek Brunson in the first round of their bout in the main event of UFC Melbourne.

UFC on FOX 24 takes place live from the Sprint Centre in Kansas City, Missouri on April 15, 2017. The card is set to be headlined by a flyweight title fight between currently champion Demetrious Johnson and Wilson Reis.
