Englishman Darren Till is set to return to the octagon for the first time in over a year, as he faces Jessin Ayara at UFC Fight Night 109.
The news was revealed exclusively to Olimpo MMA.
Till (13-0-1 MMA, 1-0-1 UFC) showcased his technical brilliance in his UFC debut, as the Liverpudlian left Wendell Oliveira unconscious on the canvas after a barrage of vicious elbows from half guard. He then returned to face Nicholas Dalby at UFC Dublin, but after a successful start to the fight, multiple injuries hampered Till, and he walked away with only a draw.
Ayari (16-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is familiar with facing British opponents in the UFC. His first, and currently lone UFC fight took place at UFC Hamburg, where he met UK MMA veteran Jim Wallhead. Ayari and “Judo” Jim battled in a back and forth contest for three rounds, with the German walking away with a somewhat controversial split decision win.
UFC Fight Night 109 takes place live from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on May 28, 2017. In the main event, Sweden’s own Alexander Gustafsson faces Glover Teixeira.
