UFC Glasgow Preview

This Sunday we see the Octagon return to the UK in Glasgow, Scotland, for UFC Fight Night – Nelson vs Ponzinibbio.

Fight Pass Prelims

The first fight of the night is a women’s Bantamweight fight between Leslie “The Peacemaker” Smith (9-7-1) and Amanda Lemos (6-0-1) who is making her UFC debut on Sunday night. Amanda has finished her opponent in all of her 6 wins 5 KOs and 1 SUB. Leslie is coming into the fight on a 1 fight win streak defeating Irene Aldana at UFC FN VanZant vs Waterson after the defeat to the Women’s Featherweight title contender Cris Cyborg. This should be an entertaining Striking battle worth watching.

The second fight of the night is between the undefeated Welshman Brett “The Pikey” Johns (13-0-0) and Albert “The Warrior” Morales. Brett Johns is making his second UFC appearance after a Unanimous Decision victory over Kwan Ho Kwak at UFC Fight Night Mousasi Vs Hall 2. Albert Morales is making his 4th octagon appearance, coming into the fight after a split decision win over Andre Soukhamthathat UFC 209 Woodley Vs Thompson 2. This will be a test for Brett Johns as Morales is not an easy fight for any Bantamweight fighter as his only loss is to #9 Ranked Bantamweight Thomas Almeida.

BT Sport Prelims

The First Fight on the BT Sport Prelims see’s Scotland’s own Danny “The Hatchet” Henry (10-2-0) take on undefeated swede Daniel “Kid Dynamite” Teymur (6-0-0) who has finished all 6 of his wins. Both fighters are making their UFC debuts on Sunday Night. This fight will give Danny Henry the perfect opportunity to show his fans what he can do in front of his home crowd.

The Next fight see’s Irishman Charlie “Relentless” Ward (3-2-0) taking on Congo’s Galore Bofando (4-2-0), Charlie ward is coming into the fight after being knocked out in round 1 by Abdul Razak Alhassan at UFC Fight Night Mousasi Vs Hall 2, so on Sunday he will be determined to get back to winning ways. Galore Bofando, is making his UFC debut on the night he is the underdog for this fight but with 3 knockouts out of 4 wins, proves the upset is possible.

The Next fight we see #14 ranked flyweight Alexandre ” The Cannibal” Pantoja (17-2-0) take on UFC vet Neil “2Tap” Seery (16-12-0). Alexandre is coming into the fight after a Split Decision victory over Eric Shelton at UFC FN Shevchenko vs Pena. Neil Seery is coming into the fight after a loss to Former UFC fighter and Former UFC title challenger Kyoji Horiguchi at UFC FN Overeem vs Arlovski. This fight will be a highly skilled fight between the 2 experienced fighters, with the crowd hoping for a Neil Seery win.

In the Final Prelim, we See Englishman Danny “Hot Chocolate” Roberts (13-2-0) take on Bobby “Nashty’ Nash (8-2-0). Danny Roberts is coming off a KO loss to Mike Perry at UFC 204 Bisping vs Henderson 2, Danny will want to get back to winning ways. Bobby Nash is also coming into the fight after a KO loss to Li Jingliang. Bobby Nash has 4 wins by KO, where Danny Roberts has 5 KOs, 4 coming inside the first round.

Main Card

To Kick off the Main Card, Englishman James “Juggernaut” Mulheron (11-1-0) takes on Justin “Big Pretty” Willis (4-1-0) , in the only Heavyweight fight on the night, both fighters are making their UFC debut on Sunday night and as the only heavyweight bout the fans will be expecting to see a knockout in this one. James Mulheron is on a 6-fight win streak coming into the UFC, he is also the #1 heavyweight in Uk and Ireland. Justin Willis is on a 4-fight win streak coming into the UFC and regards his opponent as ” A man in over his head”.

In the second fight of the main card we see a Light-Heavyweight bout between Khalil Rountree Jr. (6-2-0) take on Scotland’s own Paul “BeerJew” Craig (9-1-0). Khalil is coming into the fight after a round 1 KO victory over Daniel Jolly at UFC FN Bermudez vs Korean Zombie. Whereas Paul Craig is coming in after a Round 1 KO Loss to Tyson Pedro at UFC 209 Woodley vs Thompson 2. Paul Craig will be looking to get another win streak started in front of his home crowd on Sunday night. With finishes in all 9 of his fights Paul Craig will definitely be hunting the finish.

In the third fight of the main card we see Welshman Jack ” The Hammer” Marshman (21-6-0) take on Canadian Ryan Janes (9-2-0) in the only Middleweight fight of the night. Jack Marshman is coming in on the back of a KO loss to Thiago Santos at UFC FN Lewis vs Browne, He will be looking to get back in to the win column on Sunday night. Ryan Janes is coming into the fight on the back of a Submission defeat to Gerald Meerschaert at UFC FN Lewis vs Browne. The Canadian will be looking to shock the home crowd and get back to winning ways, with 7 of his 9 wins by Submission.

Next fight on the main card see’s Scotland’s Own Stevie “Braveheart” Ray (21-6-0) take on Paul ” The Irish Dragon” Felder (13-3-0). Stevie Ray is coming into this fight after wins over two ufc Vets Ross Pearson and Joe Lauzon. Paul Felder is coming in to the Octagon after a round 1 KO victory over Alessandro Ricci at UFC FN Lewis vs Browne. Stevie Ray will be looking to continue his win streak and climb into the top 15 lightweights in the UFC. Whereas Paul Felder will be looking to upset the home crowd and continue his win streak.

In the Co-Main event, we see #8 Ranked Women’s Straweight fighter Joanne ” JoJo” Calderwood (11-2-0) take on #14 Ranked Cynthia Calvillo (5-0-0). Cynthia Calvillo has took the Division by storm entering the top 15 in just 5 months of making her UFC debut, with 2 victories by Submission. Scotland Joanne Calderwood is coming of a submission loss to former title challenger Jessica Andrade, she will be looking to get back to winning ways in front of her home crowd. But Cynthia Calvillo has said “If it does get to the ground, I will definitely submit her”. This fight would be my pick for fight of the night.
