A flyweight championship fight between Muhammad Mokaev and Liam Gittins has been scheduled for Tanko FC 3. The winner of the fight will be crowned as the first ever Tanko Amateur Flyweight Champion.

The news was revealed by Tanko FC matchmaker Carl Prince on Facebook.

Mokaev (4-0) really hit the spotlight in his second amateur fight, where he took a dominant decision over Ash McCracken at FCC 17. The fact that he was a 16-year-old who was fighting in a cage enticed and intrigued fans, and has made him one popular man. Following the victory over McCracken, “Black Tiger” made more headlines by knocking out Jose Rufino in the second round of their bout at ICE FC 18. In his most recent bout, Mokaev faced Markus Haegland at Tanko FC 2, and after what is probably the toughest fight of his career, walked away with a decision victory.

Gittins (7-1) is currently ranked #1 UK Amateur Flyweight, and has proved just how good he is through his eight fights. Gittins went 3-0 prior to his first loss, and has been unstoppable since. Rebounding from the loss, he defeated Scott Johnson via decision before submitting Adam Wilson in a action packed fight at SHINOBI WAR 8. The Englishman then made it three in a row with a submission victory over Ben Miles before taking a decision win over #6 ranked Jake Hadley last time out.

Tanko FC 3 takes place live from the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, on February 11th 2017.
