FightStar Championship returns to the capital on April 22 for FightStar Championship 9: London, hosted at the Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre.
Surging middleweight prospect Mike ‘Seabass’ Shipman will square-off against Blackpool’s Kevin Fryer in the headliner, with the vacant FightStar middleweight championship up for grabs. Shipman, a product of London Shootfighters, brings a nine-fight win-streak into the contest and will be competing for the first time since his 93-second submission win over Dominic Clark last July. Fryer, meanwhile, is riding a four-fight win streak of his own, topped by a September conquest over the aforementioned Clark.
The evening’s co-main event features an intriguing lightweight title fight between Alfie ‘ARD’ Davis and former Cage Warriors title challenger Adam ‘Boa’ Boussif. Davis is unbeaten in his last five outings, which includes a second round TKO of Boussif’s teammate Terry Doyle. This bout will mark Boussif’s sixth title challenge in his last seven fights.
The rest of the card is jam-packed with local talent from in and around London, however, the pick of the bunch is a flyweight contest between John Shink and Tristar’s Julian Villanova. Luton’s Shink will hope to maintain his unbeaten pro record after a standout amateur career, whilst Villanova will look to grow his current win-streak to four fights.
