Welshman Azi Thomas (6-3-0-1NC) is set to make his fourth appearance of 2016, as he faces experienced EFC veteran, Leon Mynhardt (17-8) at EFC 56.

Thomas last competed at EFC 53, losing via TKO to former featherweight champion Boyd Allen. The bout wasn’t without controversy, an eye poke to Thomas early in the fight seemed to greatly effect ‘One Bomb’. Despite the infraction, Thomas had his moments, coming close to finishing the South African before eventually being stopped himself in the third frame.

In Mynhardt, Thomas faces another former EFC champion. Mynhardt defended the lightweight belt multiple times before eventually dropping the title to Dave Mazany in July.

EFC 56 takes place at Carnival City in Johannesburg, South Africa on December 9 and is set to be headlined by a welterweight title fight between Dricus Du Plessis and Henry Fadipe. Tickets will be available from HERE, broadcast details can be found HERE.
