You may or may not already know that BAMMA and Bellator are joining forces to put on a ‘dual main card’ event on December 16, at the 3Arena in Dublin.
Ignoring the obvious oxymoron of the ‘double main card’, the event will be staged in two halves, with one half featuring BAMMA 27 bouts, the other Bellator 169. To avoid any further confusion, below are the bulleted facts:
- The BAMMA card will be headlined by a bantamweight world title fight between Tom Duquesnoy (c) and Alan Philpott (c) – both are champions!
- BAMMA’s featherweight title is also on the line as lightweight champion, Martin Stapleton drops ten pounds to fight Ronnie Mann for the vacant strap
- Also on the BAMMA portion is a featherweight bout between Dylan Tuke and Sean Tobin
- Light-heavyweights ‘King’ Mo Lawal and Satoshi Ishii headline the Bellator portion of the card
Also announced today is a welterweight matchup between the undefeated Walter Gahadza (16-0) and Warrior Fight Series champion, Nathan Jones (9-5).
That should do for now…
