Surging prospect James Gallagher has an opponent for Bellator 173. It was announced not too long ago that the SBG product would feature on the card, and now his opponent has been named.
Petesy Carroll revealed the news.
Gallagher (5-0 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) is one of the hottest prospects in the world of MMA right now, and has looked untouchable in his first five professional contests. “The Strabanimal” submitted Denis Ahern, Declan McAleenan and Gerard Gilmore before making his Bellator debut. In his promotional debut, Gallagher took a dominant decision win over Michael Cutting. In his most recent outing, the Irishman submitted Anthony Taylor at Bellator 169.
Medvedovsky (7-4 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) went 6-0 in his first six bouts, picking up four finishes in that run. His first loss came at the hands of Medvedovsky then faced Tieying Wu at Kunlun Fight 35, but lost for the second time in a row. He rebounded with a victory over Evgeny Zhelakov before losing a decision to Georgi Karakhanyan in his most recent bout at Bellator 164.
Bellator 173 will be co-promoted, along with BAMMA. The two organizations also co-promoted an event on Dec. 16 in Dublin. This event will take place on February 24th, and will be headlined by a light heavyweight contest between Chris Fields and Liam McGeary.
