Muhammad ‘The Black Tiger’ Mokaev is a name that is coming up more and more every single day throughout UK MMA fans. I’ve witnessed both of Mokaev’s amateur fights, the first was at SHINOBI WAR 6, when he was just 15, yes fifteen! If you want to watch that fight, do so here:

Mokaev is now sixteen years of age, and has fought once since then, minus the shinpads. His second victory came at FCC 17, where he dominated Ash McCracken, earning a unanimous decision win.

Mokaev (2-0) is from Dagestan, but moved to England in 2012 due to war in his home country. Mokaev talks about UFC superstars Khabib Nurmagomedov and Rustam Khabilov as inspirations for him, and often gets support from them in the lead up to his fights.

If you walked past Mokaev in the street, you’d think absolutely nothing of it, but if you actually got in to a fight with him, you’d know, he’s not just your normal 16-year-old. Mokaev is an aggressive wrestler who swarms opponents from the word go. His style can be likened to both Nurmagomedov and Khabilov’s style of fighting, but ‘Black Tiger’ wants to be his own version.

At just 16 years of age, Mokaev has an abundance of time to grow and get better. With the utmost respect, it’s unlikely Mokaev even has his ‘man-strength’ yet, so when that kicks in, his opponents are going to be in even more trouble than they already are.

‘Dagestan Airlines’ often gets thrown about when Mokaev fights, and rightly so, the youngster has shown the ability to pick up, and drop his opponents on to their heads in both fights, so watch out for that!
