A lightweight encounter between Marc Diakiese and Teemu Packalen is official for UFC Fight Night 108.

Kimura.se were first to announce the news.

Diakiese (11-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) dominated the UK scene for three years before finally getting the call to fight for the UFC, and has done the exact same on the biggest platform in MMA. Diakiese was the victim of booing and criticism during and after his decision victory over Jack McGann, so he changed things up, and has since been ferocious inside the cage. After changing gyms, “Bonecrusher” fought Rick Selvarajah at BAMMA, and defended his Lonsdale Lightweight title for the first time with a :24 second knockout. The Englishman then faced bitter rival Kane Mousah at BAMMA 25, and layed him out in just :36 seconds. In his UFC debut, the ASW fighter made it three finishes in a row with a second round stoppage over Lukasz Sajewski before taking a decision over Frankie Perez in his most recent bout.

Packalen (8-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) went 7-0 in his first seven professional MMA bouts after going 7-1 as an amateur. The Finland native then made his UFC debut, but it didn’t go to plan. “Pacu” faced Mickael Lebout at UFC Fight Night 72 in Glasgow, but lost on the scorecards. In his second, and most recent UFC bout, Packalen rebounded from the loss with an impressive :24 second submission victory over Thibalt Gouti at UFC Fight Night 84.

UFC Fight Night 108 takes place live from The O2 Arena in London, England on March 18, 2017.
