UK middleweight Scott Askham (14-4) has been released by the UFC.
Askham responded to the news by posting the below message on social media.
Though the release may not come as huge shock, it a disappointing decision for a fighter who, as Askham himself noted, could very well have been 4-2 rather than 2-4 following two split decision defeats.
Debuting with the promotion in 2014, Askham did manage to rack up a pair of KO victories in his time in the UFC, including a performance of the night earning head kick finish of Chris Dempsey.
Askham previously fought in BAMMA, where he was their undefeated middleweight champion. The Sprawl are very interested to see where the 28-year-old ends up next.
