Two Lonsdale championship fights have been added to BAMMA 29. The first bout announced was a Lonsdale lightweight title tilt where Tim Barnett will face Mario Saeed, and in the other bout, Walter Gahadza and Terry Brazier will fight for the Lonsdale welterweight title.

BAMMA announced the news on social media.

Barnett (4-0 MMA, 1-0 BAMMA) fought twice on BAMMA shows as an amateur, and returned to the promotion as a late notice replacement to face then Lonsdale Lightweight Champion Rhys McKee in Belfast. Barnett dethroned McKee in enemy territory, and captured the belt via first round TKO.

Saeed (9-3 MMA, 0-1 BAMMA) has only appeared once at BAMMA, where he lost to bitter rival Myles Price via first round TKO. “Rudeboy” took around one year off following that fight, but returned at Golden Ticket Fight Promotions 4 on February 25, where he defeated Aron Jahnsen via submission in the first round.

Gahadza (16-1 MMA, 1-1 BAMMA) has had an interesting run under the BAMMA banner to say the least. He debuted with the promotion at BAMMA 25, holding a record of 15-0, but after illegal elbows by Colin Fletcher just 12-seconds in, the fight was stopped and he was awarded a victory via disqualification. In his second bout, Gahadza faced Nathan Jones at BAMMA 27, but lost the fight via split decision.

Brazier (7-1 MMA, 2-0 BAMMA) made his BAMMA debut in May of 2016, where he submitted Francis Buangala in just 38-seconds at BAMMA 25. He then fought at Lion Fighting Championships 9, and picked up a decision win over Shah Hussain before returning to BAMMA, and defeating Niklas Sotlze via decision at BAMMA 27.

BAMMA 29 takes place live from the Genting Arena in Birmingham, England on Friday, May 12. The card is set to be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Brett McDermott and Ruben Wolf.
