An explosive lightweight bout between Richie Smullen and Rhys McKee has been added to BAMMA 30.

The promotion announced the fight over social media.

Smullen (3-0) has won all three of his professional bouts, and is shaping up to be one of the most dangerous prospects in the country. The SBG Ireland product has finished 2 of 3 of his professional bouts in the first round. His coach John Kavanagh seemed to have let slip that he was next in line for the Lonsdale Lightweight Belt at BAMMA 29, but that is clearly now not the case.

McKee (5-1) is coming off his first professional loss as a professional, that loss being a first round TKO to Tim Barnett. In that fight, “Skeletor” lost his Lonsdale Lightweight Strap. The Northern Irishman is currently in Canada training under the tutelage of Firas Zahabi in Tristar. The infamous gym is home to stars such as Georges St-Pierre and Joe Duffy.

BAMMA 30 takes place live from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland on July 7, 2017.
