A heavyweight bout between James Mulheron and Ruben Wolf has been announced for Made 4 The Cage 23. The bout will be a rematch of their first encounter, which Wolf won via TKO in the third round. This bout will be for the M4TC Heavyweight title, which Mulheron currently holds. The fight will be the main event.
The bout was announced by M4TC Managing Director Dale Percival on Facebook, he said this:
Mulheron (10-1 MMA, 9-1 M4TC) debuted, and had his first nine professional MMA fights under the M4TC banner, before fighting for Bellator in London. After debuting in 2012 and picking up a TKO victory, Mulheron went 3-0 in 2013, with two stoppages and a decision. To start 2014, the Englishman defeated Stav Economou, who’s one of the most well known fighters in the UK, before picking up victories against Neil Wain and Dayman Lake. “The Juggernaut” ‘s 2015 got off to the worst possible start though, as he was stopped by the aforementioned Wolf, losing his M4TC heavyweight strap, which he had defended three times prior. Rebounding from the loss exactly nine months later, Mulheron stopped Tomasz Czerwiński, once again capturing the heavyweight title which had been vacated by Wolf. Next up, to start 2016, Mulheron got the opportunity of a lifetime, and was offered a fight at Bellator 158, in London. Mulheron faced Neil Grove, and after three round of action, walked away with a Unanimous Decision victory. In his most recent outing, Mulheron faced Geraint Hill, and defended his heavyweight strap for the second successive time, picking up a second round TKO.
Wolf (11-8 MMA, 1-0 M4TC) had a rollercoaster start to his professional MMA career, going 6-6 in his first 12 bouts, before fighting Saša Milinković at Final Fight Championship 13. The fight, which Wolf won via second round knockout, was the start of a four fight win streak where he would capture the M4TC heavyweight title. Following the victory, Wolf would fight on the Austrian regional scene, and stop Stanislav Sobotka. That was before returning to Final Fight Championship, and defeating Ivo Skopljack via submission. Then “The Viking” fought for the M4TC heavyweight title. This was at M4TC 16 in Sunderland, England. Wolf dethroned Mulheron in the third round of their bout, picking up a TKO victory, and the M4TC Heavyweight strap.
Made 4 The Cage 23 takes place live from the Rainton Meadows Arena in Sunderland, England on Feb 25 2017. It is unclear whether this bout will be the main event for the card, The Sprawl have reached out to M4TC to confirm.
