BAMMA 29 at the Genting Arena, Birmingham saw reality TV personality, Aaron Chalmers of Geordie Shore make his MMA debut against Greg Jenkins – and walk away with a victory.
Chalmers may have walked out to a chorus of boos, but the cast of Geordie Shore cheered in anticipation. Chalmers secured the takedown early on and looked like he was aiming for a TKO via ground strikes but he soon tired out. Changing tack, Chalmers went looking for the submission and found success via Americana.
Originally scheduled to take place in the lightweight division, the showdown eventually took place at welterweight after some some controversy and confusion at yesterday’s weigh ins.
