Both Jack Eglin and Kerry Hughes, who are set to fight at BCMMA 17 on Dec. 3, have new opponents. BCMMA promoter Jack Mason revealed the news exclusively to The Sprawl.

Eglin (2-0 AM) was scheduled to take on BCMMA Flyweight Champion Leigh Mitchell, but after Mitchell suffered an undisclosed injury in his bout this past weekend at Almighty Fighting Championship 3, pulled out of the bout. The interim title will now be on the line, with Eglin facing red 16-year-old prospect Muhammad Mokaev. Mokaev is 3-0 as an amateur and is coming off an impressive knockout win at ICE FC 18. The winner of the bout will fight champion Leigh Mitchell in February.

BCMMA Women’s Bantamweight Champion Kerry Hughes (3-1 MMA) was scheduled to face Lucie Bertaud on the show, but Bertaud has been ruled out of the bout with a knee injury which will require surgery. Hughes won the title last time out when she defeated Clemence Schreiber via decision at BCMMA 16, she will now face Zarah Fairn dos Santos. Dos Santos (3-2 MMA) is coming off a back and forth war against Sinead Kavanagh at BAMMA 24 where she ended up on the wrong side of a split decision.

BCMMA 17 takes place live from Charter Hall in Colchester on Dec 3. The fight between Women’s Bantamweight Champion Kerry Hughes and Zarah Fairn Dos Santos is set to headline the card.
