The Sprawl can today reveal that BCMMA 17 which was set for September 24th has been postponed until 3rd December.

Over the past 18-24 months BCMMA has become one of the top promotions in the country and has attracted top fighters from all over Europe including ex UFC stars Luke Barnett, Simeon Thoresen and John Maguire to name a few. On top of this, they have been a great place for rising stars to nurture their talent and build up a reputation just as Thomas Robertsen has done. This decision must have been hard for Mason and the management team to make but the interest and security of the promotion has come first. Which I believe is not only the sensible option but something more promotions should look to do rather than continuously running shows at a loss.

Speaking exclusively to The Sprawl, BCMMA promoter Jack Mason had the following to say about the situation and explained why he has made the decision to postpone the show.

“At BCMMA we are continuously looking to improve on our previous efforts and put on the best show for our fighters and fans.

Due to key fighter injuries and circumstances outside of our control the 24th September 2016 show was just not going to be the show that our loyal fighters and fans deserve. BCMMA have made the positive decision to postpone the show until 3rd December when we know we can deliver a show that will blow our previous events out of the water.

Some pivotal bouts postponed from September will take place instead in December and we have some other scintillating bouts and big names lined up on the card already. Stay tuned next week for some big fight announcements for 3rd December 2016!” Stay tuned in the coming weeks as the fights get announced for BCMMA 17.

Please note: The Rolling Thunder grappling tournament will still go ahead on Sept 24th as planned
