News emerged yesterday evening that UFC Women’s fighter better known at ‘Cyborg’ had vacated her Invicta FC belt.

Cyborg held on to that belt when she signed with the UFC, as the plan was to still defend it. It seems now that is not the case, and won’t happen. The Brazilian fought her first two UFC bouts at a 140lbs catchweight, but demanded a featherweight (145lbs) division, as making that weight was damaging her body.

She got her wish, and then failed a drug test. Fingers were pointed, snide remarks were made, and assumptions were jumped too. Why? Because Cyborg has failed tests before. After a whirlwind couple of weeks, Cyborg was cleared of any drug offences, and her suspension lifted.

Due to all of this mayhem, she weren’t around to fight for the title when the UFC wanted her to, so Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie fought for the inaugural 145lbs belt. Germaine walked away with the win, controversially, but with a win. Now Cyborg wants a crack at her, and the belt.

The Dutchwoman has ferocious power and is physically so strong it’s hard to implement wrestling or grappling against her. “Iron Lady” has never faced anybody like Cyborg before, I mean, who has? Until you face Cyborg, you really never know what it’s truly like in there.

Why has Cyborg vacated the Invicta FC Featherweight Championship? Now, it could be because Invicta have forced her to in order to crown a new champion, possibly popular up and comer Megan Anderson. That may be the reason, or maybe, just maybe, she’s using it as a way to attract more attention to the UFC belt.

Pretty much the whole MMA community agrees that De Randamie vs. Cyborg is the fight to make, and maybe this is just the Brazilian’s way to push, and possibly persuade the UFC to set up the fight.
