Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett not only got the chance to fight for a title last September, but he got to do in it front of his home city.

The proud Liverpudlian competed for the vacant featherweight championship against Johnny Franchey inside the Echo Arena. Although it’s hard to believe, this fight only served as the co-main event.

From the moment Franchey walked out, he was in a lions den. The Liverpool crowd roared, cheering on their native, and throwing the odd bit of good-hearted abuse to the Frenchman.

The atmosphere was even wilder when Pimblett himself walked out, and it spurred him on to score a first round finish, and capture the vacant Cage Warriors Featherweight Championship, a belt he has defended once since.

Pimblett fights this Saturday, April 1, in the main event of Cage Warriors’ return to Liverpool. “The Baddy” takes on Nad Narimani inside the Echo Arena.
