The first fight for Tanko FC 5 has been announced, and it’s the main event. In the headliner, UFC veteran Niklas Backstrom will face Tim Wilde in a featherweight bout.

The promotion announced the bout over social media.

Backstrom (11-2) went 1-2 under the UFC banner, submitting Tom Niinimaki before being stopped by Mike Wilkinson and finally losing via majority decision to Noad Lahat. Following his release, the Swede submitted Georgi Stoyanov and Danijel Kokora before earning a decision over Joni Salovaara.

Wilde (10-3) is coming off one of the most impressive performances of his career, where he stopped Ian Williams with a spinning wheel kick in the first round of their bout at FCC 18. Prior to the win, he suffered a big upset win when he was stopped by Alexander Jacobsen after dominating the first three minutes of their fight at Cage Warriors 80.

Tanko FC 5 takes place live from the Leeds Town Hall on Saturday, June 24. No other bouts have been announced for the card as of yet.
