It emerged yesterday evening that ranked flyweights Zach Makovsky and Ali Bagautinov had been removed from the UFC roster, and now it has been confirmed the pair has been let go by the promotion.

MMAJunkie.com confirmed with UFC officials that the two had fought out their current contracts and would not be offered new deals.

Makovsky (19-8) fought seven times under the UFC banner and went 3-4. He defeated Scott Jorgensen, Josh Sampo and Tim Elliot during his UFC tenure, but has lost his last three fights.

Bagautinov (14-5) also entered the UFC octagon seven times, and has a record of 4-3 under the promotion. The Russian’s release may come as a surprise, as his three losses have came at the hands of Demetrious Johnson, Joseph Benavidez and Kyoji Horiguchi. His victories were against Marcos Vinicius, Tim Elliott, John Lineker and Geane Herrera.
