A middleweight bout between Vitor Belfort and Nate Marquardt is being targeted for UFC 212, which takes place in June.

Combate‘s original report was confirmed by Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com.

Belfort (24-14) was one of the pioneers of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and has been a part of the promotion since the early days. After his stoppage loss to Kelvin Gastelum marked his third straight TKO loss, Belfort announced his next fight would be his last.

Marquardt (35-17-2) may also be coming to the end of his career, as the former UFC title challenger is now 38-years-old. Since rejoining the UFC, Marquardt has gone 3-6, and is coming off a decision loss to Sam Alvey. His three victories have all been stoppages, and have come over James Te Huna, CB Dolloway and Tamdam McCrory.

UFC 212 takes place live from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on June 3, 2017. The card is set to be headlined by a featherweight title tilt between Jose Aldo and Max Holloway.
