A featherweight bout between Brazilian Rony Jason and undefeated fighter Jeremy Kennedy is official for UFC Fight Night 106.

UFC officials announced the bout yesterday.

Jason (14-6 1NC) may be fighting for his UFC career in Fortaleza, as he hasn’t had his hand raised in the octagon since March of 2014. Jason’s last win came at UFC Fight Night 38, where he stopped Steven Siler in the first round. Since then, Jason has lost two, and had one fight end in a No Contest. The first loss came to Robbie Peralta, then the Brazilian faced Damon Martin, but after a submission win, the result was overturned following a failed drug test. In his most recent outing, the 32-year-old lost a decision to Dennis Bermudez.

Kennedy (9-0) has a 3-0 amateur record to go along with his 9-0 professional record. In those nine professional fights, the Canadian has gone the distance four times. Born in Canada, Kennedy trains out of Team Quest Thailand; he has one victory inside the UFC but hasn’t fought since August of 2016. That lone victory came over Alex Ricci at UFC Vancouver.

UFC Fight Night 106 takes place live from the Centro de Formação Olímpica do Nordeste in Fortaleza, Brazil on March 11. The card is set to be headlined by a middleweight contest between Vitor Belfort and Kelvin Gastelum.
