Junior dos Santos may well be the next man in line to challenge for the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Brazilian outlet Combate recently reported that the UFC were trying to put together a bout between JDS and current champion Stipe Miocic for UFC 211.

Miocic (16-2) has only lost twice in his career, and one of them came to dos Santos. That was in a five round war in the main event of UFC on FOX 13. The Cleveland native won his title with a first round knockout over Fabricio Werdum at UFC 198 before defending it against Alistair Overeem in his home town, and picking up another first round stoppage victory.

Dos Santos (18-4) is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion and is coming off a five round decision victory over Ben Rothwell, which took place in the main event of UFC Zagreb. The Brazilian won the title at UFC on FOX 1 with a 64-second knockout win over Cain Velasquez, and defended it once before losing it in a rematch with Velasquez.

UFC 211 takes place live from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on May 13.
