A lightweight bout between Olivier Aubin Mercier and Leonardo Santos has been scrapped from UFC 212.

The news was announced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on Thursday.

Aubin Mercier (9-2) has made a real name for himself since joining the UFC. After dropping a split decision to Chad Laprise in his promotional debut, the Canadian has won 5 out of six, amassing four stoppages.

Santos (16-3-1) is undefeated in his last 11 and has not been beaten since joining the UFC six fights ago. The only result stopping Santos from having a perfect 6-0 UFC record is a draw against Norman Parke.

UFC 212 takes place live from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on June 3, 2017. The card is set to be headlined by a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Max Holloway.
