Neil Seery, who was one of the fighters that paved the way for MMA in Ireland, has an opponent for his final ever MMA bout, which will take place in Glasgow.

The Irish Mirror announced the fight.

Seery (16-12) made his professional debut in 2005, and amassed a record of 13-9, competing most notably on Cage Warriors shows, before singing with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A short notice loss to Brad Pickett was followed by two  victories over Phil Harris and Chris Beal. “2Tap” then lost to Louis Smolka before submitting Jon delos Reyes. In his most recent outing, the Irishman lost to Kyoji Horiguchi.

His opponent on July 16 will be Alejandre Pantoja (17-2) who is 1-0 in the UFC. Pantoja was riding a nine fight win streak upon signing for the promotion, and made it ten when he defeated Eric Shelton via split decision at UFC on FOX 23. The 27-year-old is undefeated since 2010, where he lost to Jussier Formiga.

UFC Fight Night 113 takes place live from the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, on July 16.
