A light heavyweight contest between Misha Cirkunov and Volkan Oezdemir has been announced for UFC Fight Night 109. This comes after Cirkunov finally agreed a new deal with the promotion.

UFC officials announced the news yesterday.

Cirkunov (13-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC) has finished all four of his UFC wins. The Latvian has three submission victories, with one stoppage with strikes. The lone KO on his UFC record came in his UFC debut, where he stopped Daniel Jolly at UFC Saskatoon. He then submitted Alex Nicholson, Ion Cutelaba and most recently Nikita Krylov.

Oezdemir (13-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) went 12-1 outside the promotion, and made his debut on short notice against Ovince Saint Preux, who at the time was considered a top guy in the division. The Swiss native won that fight via split decision despite the late notice, and will be looking to make it 2-0 in the UFC in Stockholm.

UFC Fight Night 109 takes place live from the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden on May 28, 2017. The card is set to be headlined by a light heavyweight contest between Sweden’s own Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Texieira.
