A flyweight encounter between Jussier Formiga and Ray Borg has been announced for UFC Fight Night 106.

MMAFighting.com confirmed the news following an initial report from Combate.

Formiga (19-4 MMA, 5-3 UFC) went 14-1 before debuting in the UFC; the Brazilian debuted in the UFC with a title eliminator bout against John Dodson, but lost the bout via TKO in the second round. He rebounded from the loss with a decision victory over Chris Cariaso before dropping a stoppage loss to Joseph Benavidez in September of 2013. The BJJ black belt rebounded from his second UFC loss by putting together a three fight win streak. The first win came against Scott Jorgensen, and that was followed by decision victories over Zach Makovsky and Wilson Reis respectively. In November of 2015, Formiga faced Henry Cejudo, but lost the bout via split decision. In his most recent outing, he took a decision over Dustin Ortiz at UFC Brasilia.

Borg (10-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) debuted in the UFC in April of 2014, and suffered his first professional loss, dropping a decision to Dustin Ortiz. He then choked out Shane Howell before tapping Chris Kelades with a kimura. Borg made it three in a row in the UFC with a decision victory over Geane Herrera before losing a decision to Justin Scoggins. In his most recent outing, Borg put on possibly the best performance of his career, and defeated Louis Smolka via decision at UFC 207.

UFC Fight Night 106 takes place live from the Centro de Formação Olímpica do Nordeste on March 11th, 2017. The card is set to be headlined by a middleweight contest between Vitor Belfort and Kelvin Gastelum.
