A strawweight championship match-up between champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk and #2 ranked Karolina Kowalkiewicz has been set for UFC 205, in New York.

Sources close to FloCombat revealed the news to them.

Jędrzejczyk (12-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) has won all of her six UFC bouts, and picked up two finishes along the way. The Pole went 2-0 with a decision victory over Juliana Lima before scraping a split decision against Claudia Gadelha in the fight prior to her title shot. Jędrzejczyk faced then champion Carla Esparza at UFC 185 and stopped Esparza in the first round. In her first title defence, Jędrzejczyk faced Jessica Penne in Berlin and won the fight via TKO in the third round. At UFC 193, Jędrzejczyk faced Valerie Letourneau and won the bout via decision. In her most recent outing, Joanna faced longtime rival Claudia Gadelha for the second time, and won the bout via unanimous decision.

Kowalkiewicz (10-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) debuted in the UFC at UFC on FOX 17, defeating Randa Markos via Unanimous Decision. In her second outing under the UFC, the 30-year-old took another decision, this time against Heather Jo Clark at UFC Rotterdam. In her most recent bout, Kowalkiewicz took home a split decision victory over Rose Namajunas at UFC 201.

UFC 205 takes place live from Madison Square Garden in New York on Nov. 12.
