Former UFC Welterweight Champion and arguably the greatest fighter of all time Georges St. Pierre may finally have agreed terms on a new contract with the promotion.

MMAFighting.com broke the news moments ago.

According to MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani, GSP is on the verge of signing a new multi-fight deal with the promotion. The deal is set to be agreed after three months of back and forth negotiations.

St. Pierre (25-2) went 20-2 under the UFC, and defended his welterweight strap nine times after winning it against Matt Hughes at UFC 79. The Canadian retired from the sport in 2013 following a controversial decision win to Johny Hendricks. At 35-years-old, he returns to the octagon.
