A welterweight contest between Demian Maia and Jorge Masvidal is finally official. The two will fight at UFC 211 in Dallas.

MMAJunkie.com confirmed with UFC officials late yesterday night.

Maia (24-6 MMA, 18-6 UFC) is currently riding a six fight win streak. The Brazilian has looked better than ever since dropping down to welterweight. Since the move, Maia has gone 9-2. The 4th degree BJJ Black Belt was expected to be next in line for the welterweight title after six straight wins with three finishes.

Masvidal (32-11 MMA, 9-4 UFC) started his UFC career at lightweight, and went 5-2. A controversial decision loss to Al Iaquinta prompted a move back up to welterweight, where he we 1-2 in his first three fights. Since that time, Masvidal has defeated Ross Pearson, Jake Ellenberger and most recently Donald Cerrone.

UFC 211 takes place live from the American Airlines Center on May 13. The card is set to be headlined by a heavyweight championship fight between current champion Stipe Miocic and Junior dos Santos.
