UFC President Dana White has just confirmed that Michael Bisping’s first title defence will be against Dan Henderson in a rematch of their first encounter at UFC 100 where Henderson knocked Bisping out cold in the first round.

During the FS1 UFC 200 Post Fight show, White said: “We’re going to do Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping, it’s a fight that the champ wants. It’s a fight that the fans want. We’re thinking about doing it in Manchester, England. But that’s not signed yet.”

Bisping and Henderson had some bad blood before their first encounter, with the Englishman doing most of the talking. It was Henderson who came out on top, though, as he crumpled “The Count” with the infamous ‘H-Bomb’ before smashing the unconscious Bisping with another. That first encounter took place at UFC 100 in July of 2009, but Bisping is the man who’s in the driving seat now, as he holds the middleweight championship following a first round stoppage over Luke Rockhold.
