A women’s strawweight fight between Claudia Gadelha and Karolina Kowalkiewicz has been added to UFC 212.

The promotion announced the fight on Monday after Gadelha teased it earlier this month.

Gadelha (14-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) has only lost twice in her mixed martial arts career, and both of them have been to current champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk. The Brazilian debuted in the UFC with a decision win over Tina Lahdemaki before losing to Jędrzejczyk at UFC Phoenix. She rebounded with a win over Jessica Aguilar before dropping another loss to Jędrzejczyk, this time in a championship fight. In her most recent outing, Gadelha won a decision over Cortney Casey at UFC Sao Paulo.

Kowalkiewicz (10-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) also has only lost to Joanna Jędrzejczyk, that was in her last bout when she dropped a decision to the champion at UFC 205. Kowalkiewicz went 3-0 in the UFC prior to that, taking decision victories over Randa Markos, Heather Jo Clark and most recently Rose Namajunas. The Pole gave Jędrzejczyk arguably her toughest test, and came close to finishing the fight.

UFC 212 takes place live from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on June 3, 2017. The card is set to be headlined by a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Max Holloway.
