A welterweight bout between Donald Cerrone and Robbie Lawler has been removed from the UFC 213 card due to a Cerrone injury. The pair are now expected to meet at UFC 214.

Lawler (17-11 1NC) is set to return to the octagon for the first time since losing his UFC Welterweight Championship against Tyron Woodley at UFC 201. Prior to losing the belt, The Ruthless one had defended his strap twice. Since his most recent outing, the 35-year-old has departed with American Top Team; no other announcements have been made regarding his new home.

Cerrone (32-8 1NC) is also coming off a loss, one that snapped his undefeated streak at 170lbs. “Cowboy” moved up to welterweight after an unsuccessful attempt at winning the 155lb title. Cerrone stopped Alex Oliveira, Patrick Cote, Rick Story and Matt Brown before succumbing to strikes against Jorge Masvidal at UFC Denver. UFC 214 takes place live from the Honda Centre in Anaheim, California on July 29, 2017. The card is set to be headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones.
